La Grand-Messe was born in the summer of 2015, founded by Jean-Philip Pothier, a fan of Les Cowboys Fringants and a graduate of the École nationale de la chanson de Granby in 2009. Last fall, the longtime singer-songwriter saw a childhood dream come true when Les Cowboys Fringants invited him to perform at their Octobre album launch. This bold idea proved to be a resounding success, as La Grand-Messe won over both the band and their fans! The group also brings together young musicians and friends who have shared the stage with Jean-Philip for more than five years. Since then, this close-knit group of friends has performed over a hundred shows across the province, including four Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day celebrations.

With years of friendship and musical chemistry behind them, the band now aims to bring everyone together to celebrate the great French-language classics of Les Cowboys Fringants. Thanks to their incredibly festive energy, you won’t be able to resist dancing and singing at the top of your lungs with the musicians of La Grand-Messe!
